Switzerland as Home to a Shipping Company

As ”MCT Matterhorn”, ”MCT Monte Rosa”, ”MCT Breithorn” and ”MCT Stockhorn”, the Mega Chemicals Group’s own product / chemical tankers carry the names of well-known Swiss mountains or mountain massifs out into the world. Flying at the stern of the tankers is the national flag with a white cross on a red background, which shows the register of the ships and thus also their Swiss nationality. Mega Chemicals is the first Swiss shipping company to have introduced product / chemical tankers into the Swiss merchant fleet. Besides its own tanker fleet, Mega Chemicals has taken over the four sister ships of identical design ”MCT Almak”, ”MCT Altair”, ”MCT Arcturus” and ”MCT Alioth” (named after stars) for a period of ten years under time charters.

Mega Chemicals pursues the strategy of an active and constant expansion of their fleet by ships of their own but also by chartered ships or ships for commercial management of this class. Furthermore medium-term planning exists to also employ ships of larger tonnage at Mega Chemicals.
